Senior SAP S/4HANA Migration Consultant (FI/CO)

We are looking for a senior SAP FI/CO consultant who has taken finance through more than one ECC to S/4HANA migration and knows where conversions go wrong. You will lead the finance workstream on client programmes moving to S/4HANA 2022, 2023 and 2025 releases, on-premise and under RISE with SAP, from the readiness assessment through the conversion runs, cutover and the first period-end close on the new system.

A typical engagement is a brownfield conversion for a manufacturer with a dozen company codes and parallel ledgers, or a selective data transition that consolidates two ECC systems into one S/4HANA instance. You will work with the client's controllers, the Basis team running SUM and DMO, and our logistics consultants on the integration points that touch finance.

• Lead the FI/CO workstream for ECC to S/4HANA conversions and selective data transitions on S/4HANA 2022, 2023 and 2025
• Analyse SAP Readiness Check and the simplification item list, and own the finance-related pre-conversion checks and their remediation
• Plan and execute the finance steps of the conversion: migration of the Universal Journal (ACDOCA), new asset accounting, material ledger activation and the reconciliation of balances, line items and open items before and after each run
• Prepare customer and vendor master data for Business Partner conversion (CVI), working with data owners to clear duplicates and incomplete records
• Redesign ledgers, currencies, document splitting and profit centre accounting where the conversion requires it
• Write the finance sections of the cutover plan and run the finance validation checklists during mock conversions and the production cutover
• Support the first month-end and quarter-end close after go-live, including fixes to period-end jobs, allocations and settlement
• Work with ABAP developers on custom code affected by finance simplification items, and with integration consultants on interfaces that post to FI
• Train client finance users and key users on changes in S/4HANA such as the Universal Journal, Fiori apps for finance and new reporting
• Document configuration decisions and hand over to the client's support team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field
• 5 years of experience as an SAP FI/CO consultant
• Hands-on experience on at least two ECC to S/4HANA migration projects (system conversion or selective data transition), including mock conversions and a production cutover
• Configuration experience in general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, asset accounting, cost centre and profit centre accounting, and product costing
• Experience reconciling financial data before and after conversion, and resolving FI/CO pre-conversion check errors
• Working knowledge of Business Partner (CVI) conversion
• Clear written and spoken English for working directly with client finance teams

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field

5 years as an SAP FI/CO consultant, including at least two ECC to S/4HANA migration projects

• Experience with S/4HANA 2022, 2023 or 2025 releases
• Material ledger and actual costing experience
• Central Finance, Group Reporting or SAP Advanced Financial Closing
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition under RISE with SAP
• Familiarity with the S/4HANA Migration Cockpit for greenfield or selective scenarios
• SAP certification in S/4HANA Finance
