SAP supply chain and logistics
Logistics processes cross module lines. We work on the end-to-end flows so that an order, a purchase or a production run behaves correctly from start to finish.
End-to-end processes
- Order to cash
- From sales order and availability check through delivery, picking, goods issue, transportation and billing, and the postings each step makes in finance.
- Procure to pay
- Requisitions, purchase orders, release, goods receipt, quality inspection on receipt, and invoice verification.
- Plan to produce
- Demand and MRP, production orders, component staging from the warehouse, confirmations, and goods receipt of finished products.
- Inspect and release
- Quality inspections triggered by goods receipt or production, results recording, usage decisions and stock postings.
- Warehouse to ship
- EWM outbound processing, waves and warehouse orders, loading, and the hand-off to transportation planning and execution.
- Inbound to stock
- Inbound deliveries, unloading, putaway strategies and the link to purchase orders and stock transport orders.
Why we start with the flow, not the module
Most logistics issues we're asked to fix are integration issues: a delivery that can't be planned because the freight unit rule doesn't match, a goods receipt that blocks because quality inspection isn't set up for that material type, a billing document that picks up the wrong freight cost. We trace the transaction end to end before changing configuration in any one module.
