SAP BRIM: billing and revenue innovation

Subscriptions, usage-based pricing and high-volume billing do not fit classic SD billing. SAP BRIM was built for them. We design and deliver BRIM solutions end to end, from the subscription order to the revenue posting.

Built for recurring and usage revenue

Telecoms, utilities, media, software, equipment-as-a-service and transport companies bill millions of events: calls, kilowatt-hours, API calls, rides, machine hours. They need to rate those events against complex price plans, bundle them into invoices, collect against them and recognise revenue correctly. Classic order-to-cash was never designed for that volume or flexibility.

BRIM splits the job into specialised components that work as one chain. Each component is deep, and the integration between them is where projects succeed or fail. Our BRIM consultants work across the chain, not just in one box of it.

The BRIM chain

  1. 01Subscription order management

Product modelling, subscription contracts, provider orders and contract changes such as upgrades, downgrades, renewals and cancellations, in S/4HANA.

  2. 02Convergent mediation

Collecting usage records from network elements, devices and platforms, then validating, de-duplicating and enriching them before rating.

  3. 03Convergent charging

Real-time and batch rating of usage against charge plans, tiers, allowances and discounts, with prepaid and postpaid scenarios.

  4. 04Convergent invoicing

Billable items aggregated into bills and invoices across services, with one-off charges, credits and partner settlement.

  5. 05Contract accounting (FI-CA)

High-volume receivables and payables: payment processing, dunning, collections, installment plans and posting to the general ledger.

  6. 06Revenue accounting

Performance obligations and revenue recognition under ASC 606 and IFRS 15, fed from the BRIM documents.
