SAP logistics consulting: SD, MM, PP, QM and EWM

We put experienced SAP consultants on implementation, migration and support work in sales and distribution, materials management, production planning, quality management, transportation and extended warehouse management.

Where our consultants work

Most of the SAP work we do sits in the processes that move goods: orders coming in, materials being bought, products being made, inspected, stored and shipped. That is where module boundaries matter most. A delivery in SD triggers picking in EWM, a goods issue posts in MM and FI, and a freight order in TM picks up the cost. Problems in these landscapes usually live at the seams between modules.

Our consultants work on both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, in configuration, testing, data migration, cutover and support roles, either as part of your team or as a defined workstream.

Modules and what we do in them

Sales and Distribution (SD)
Order-to-cash design and configuration: sales document types, pricing procedures, availability check, credit management, output, delivery and billing, and intercompany sales.
Materials Management (MM)
Procure-to-pay: purchasing documents, release strategies, source determination, inventory management, goods movements, and logistics invoice verification.
Production Planning (PP)
Material requirements planning, bills of material, routings, production orders, capacity planning, and confirmations for discrete and repetitive manufacturing.
Quality Management (QM)
Inspection types and plans, quality notifications, results recording, usage decisions, and integration with procurement and production.
Transportation Management (TM)
Freight unit building, freight order planning, carrier selection, tendering, charge calculation and freight settlement, embedded in S/4HANA or side-by-side.
Extended Warehouse Management (EWM)
Inbound and outbound processing, warehouse tasks and orders, storage control, slotting, wave management, and integration with deliveries and TM.

Types of engagement

  • Implementation and rollout support for a new company code, plant or region
  • ECC to S/4HANA migration workstreams, from readiness assessment to hypercare
  • Release upgrades and the regression testing that comes with them
  • Process redesign where a module no longer fits how the business works
  • Production support, incident resolution and backlog of enhancements
  • Backfilling a specific module role on an existing programme

Common questions

Do you take on whole projects or provide individual consultants?

Both. Some clients need one senior consultant in a module for six months; others need a team covering a workstream. We agree the scope, the people and the reporting line before anyone starts.

Are your consultants functional or technical?

Most are functional module consultants. We also place technical roles such as ABAP developers and integration specialists when a programme needs them.

Do you work on SAP ECC as well as S/4HANA?

Yes. Many clients still run ECC while they plan their move, and much of the useful preparation for S/4HANA happens in the ECC system.
