Data migration and master data governance

Why migrations slip
On most SAP programmes the data workstream is the one that decides the go-live date. Business Partner conversion fails on duplicate vendors, open purchase orders reference materials nobody cleansed, or the third mock load still does not reconcile to the ledger. None of these are technical problems. They are ownership problems that show up as technical ones.
We start data work early, give every migration object a business owner, and treat reconciliation as a deliverable with sign-off rather than a check someone runs on the night.
