Senior SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant

We need a senior SAP TM consultant to design and build transportation management on S/4HANA for shippers moving off ECC shipment processing (LE-TRA). You will own the TM solution from freight unit building to freight settlement and make it work with SD, MM, EWM and finance.

Typical projects are embedded TM in S/4HANA 2022, 2023 or 2025 for manufacturers and distributors that ship by truckload, LTL and parcel, with a few running ocean and air bookings. Clients expect you to lead design workshops with their transportation planners and to configure the solution yourself.

• Run fit-to-standard and design workshops with transportation, logistics and finance teams
• Configure freight unit building rules, planning profiles, selection profiles and the Transportation Cockpit for manual and optimiser-based planning
• Set up transportation network master data: locations, transportation zones, lanes, resources and schedules
• Configure carrier selection, tendering (peer-to-peer and broadcast) and carrier collaboration
• Build freight agreements, calculation sheets and rate tables for charge calculation, and configure freight settlement through to service entry and invoice verification
• Design the integration of TM with sales orders, stock transport orders and deliveries in SD and MM, and with outbound and inbound processing in EWM
• Plan the migration of open shipments and historical data from ECC LE-TRA, and the cutover of carrier EDI (204, 990, 214 and 210 messages)
• Write functional specifications for enhancements, BAdIs and output, and test them with developers
• Lead integration testing and user acceptance testing for transportation scenarios, and support hypercare after go-live
• Mentor less experienced TM consultants on the team

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems or a related field
• 5 years of experience as an SAP TM consultant
• At least one full-cycle implementation of embedded SAP TM on S/4HANA, from design to go-live
• Hands-on configuration of freight unit building, planning, carrier selection, tendering, charge calculation and freight settlement
• Experience integrating TM with SD deliveries and MM purchasing documents
• Ability to lead workshops with transportation planners and explain trade-offs in plain language

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems or a related field

5 years as an SAP TM consultant, including at least one full-cycle embedded TM implementation on S/4HANA

• Migration from ECC LE-TRA shipments to S/4HANA TM
• EWM integration, including loading and shipping
• Experience with ocean and air freight bookings
• Carrier EDI and integration through SAP Integration Suite
• Experience with side-by-side TM connected to several ERP systems
• SAP certification in Transportation Management
